Channeling Wands
Tools for directing energy. The extension of your intention. Active magic, not passive.

THE ORIGIN
What they are
+
✦ The Wand is the first conscious extension of the human body toward magic. Before the ritual knife, before the chalice, before the obsidian mirror, there was a branch. A branch someone pulled from the right tree, under the right moon, understanding that held in the right hand it could direct something invisible toward a precise point in the air. The Wand is the tool of direction. It is not passive like the Talisman — which works by proximity, in silence, while you do something else. The Wand demands that you use it. That you know where you are pointing it. That you formulate the intention in words so clear that the air itself reorganizes around the tip. That is why the Wand is the tool of the druids, of the shamans, of the witches — and that is also why it is the most misunderstood tool: because without clear intention, the Wand is just a pretty stick.
◈ The Celtic druids worked with nine sacred woods: oak (power and authority), hazel (wisdom and divination), yew (death and rebirth), rowan (protection), ash (connection between worlds), hawthorn (thresholds), elder (closure and endings), birch (beginnings), apple (love and communion). Each Wand was cut in a specific lunar phase and left to mature for a year before being carved. An unmatured druidic Wand was considered dangerous: it carried the cry of the felled tree without having released it yet. In Egypt, the priests of Thoth directed rituals with staffs of black palm crowned with falcon heads. In Mesopotamia, the Sumerian magicians used tamarisk rods to trace circles in the sand that no lesser spirit could cross. In Shinto Japan, the gohei — rods with strips of folded white paper — still mark today the places where a kami dwells.
◇ The River Plate tradition of the Wand is mestiza. It arrived on the European side with the nineteenth-century immigrations — hazel and rowan wands carried in the suitcases of Italian, Galician, Basque, Polish women who practiced in hidden kitchens. It arrived on the African side with the ritual staffs of Cuban babalawos and Brazilian mothers of saint. It arrived on the Guaraní side with the tacuara rods consecrated for rites of passage. And it arrived on the Charrúa side with branches of coronilla and molle used to mark sacred territory in the old encampments. Piriápolis, standing between the hills and the sea, received all four traditions. In the Forest near the Studio grow three of the druidic woods — wild hazel, hawthorn, elder — and also the native woods — coronilla, molle, ceibo, espinillo, tala. Thibisay and Gabriel personally harvest the wood for each Wand, always under a waxing moon, always asking the tree's permission before the cut, always leaving an offering at its base.
☾ A Wand channeled at the Studio is not a decoration. It is an active tool, and that means it carries risks and responsibilities a Talisman does not. The Wand responds only to the hand of its Chosen One — if another person picks it up without your permission, it 'falls asleep' for several days and must be reactivated. The Wand vibrates when the intention is clear and turns erratic when the intention is contradictory. The Wand asks to be used: a Wand kept in a drawer for months becomes dead wood. It is active magic, not ambient magic. You are the one who moves it, you are the one who aims it, you are the one who makes it speak the word. The Wand does not decide for you: it amplifies what you decide. That is why it is a tool for people who already more or less know what they want it for — or who are willing to learn to know. The Wand is a demanding master. But when it begins to respond, there is nothing like the feeling of the air ordering itself to the rhythm of your hand. ✦
ITS ENERGY
How it shows itself
+
✦ The energy of a Wand is completely different from that of a Talisman. The Talisman is continuous, low, almost inaudible presence — a silent companion in your pocket. The Wand is spark, pulse, discharge. When you take hold of a Wand for the first time, the most common thing is to feel it 'dead': it is just a piece of wood with a certain weight, a certain texture. That is normal. The Wand is waiting for you to make the first move. The energy appears when you lift it with intention. When you point it toward a specific place in space, when you tell it aloud or in clear thought what you want to direct. That is when the vibration begins: first a slight warmth in the palm, then a soft pulse in the center of the forearm, and after three or four sessions of use, a sensation many people describe as 'the air grows denser around the tip'.
◈ A Wand lights up with four things: the right hand (yours, only yours — it is not lent, not passed from hand to hand), the intention formulated with a clear verb (not 'good things', but 'let the money appear to pay May's rent'), the right moon (waxing to call, full to seal, waning to cut, new to empty) and ritual repetition (the Wand is muscular: it learns with you through repetition). And it goes out with four things: disuse (more than three weeks without lifting it puts it into deep sleep), contact with another hand without permission (someone else grabs it and it goes mute for several days), contradictory intentions spoken in the same session (you ask it for two things that cancel each other out and it gets confused), and contact with excessive moisture or extreme heat (the wood complains).
◇ The energy of the Wand is directional. It does not wrap around you the way a Greater Guardian does. It does not accompany you the way a Talisman does. The Wand is an arrow: you aim it, you release, and the energy goes specifically where you sent it. That precision is what makes it so powerful and so dangerous at the same time. A Wand used in haste or in anger can direct energy toward something you later regret. That is why the first law of the Wand is: do not use it when you are agitated. Wait. Breathe. Decide what you want. And then, yes, lift it. A Wand used with calm and clarity orders probability around its target with an almost surgical elegance. That is the signature of the awakened Wand: you do not notice obvious magic, you notice that the things you asked for began to appear along the way — with timing, with detail, with beauty. ☾
FIRST 24 HOURS
The welcome
+
- 1✦ As soon as you receive it, leave it in its wrapping for two hours. The Wand is more alive than the Talisman: it needs more time to recognize the air of your home before coming out.
- 2◈ Once the two hours have passed, open it with clean hands. Wash your hands with cold water first — and if you can, let them air-dry, not with a towel.
- 3◇ Take it first with your non-dominant hand. Feel its weight, its texture, its temperature. Then pass it to your dominant hand (the one you will use to direct). That change of hands is the first recognition of the Pact.
- 4☾ Take it to a window or, better, to the garden or balcony. Point it toward the sky for three minutes in silence. You are introducing it to the air of your territory.
- 5✦ After that, sit with it at a table or on the floor. Touch it slowly: the whole body, the tip, the grip. Close your eyes and memorize its shape with your fingers.
- 6◈ Tell it aloud your full name and the main intention with which you called it. Not three intentions — one alone. Clear, with an active verb. 'I want this.' 'I am going toward this.' 'I call this.'
- 7◇ Make the first stroke in the air: a slow clockwise circle in front of you, at heart height. It is the first ritual movement. The Wand remembers it.
- 8☾ Find it a place in the house where it will live when you are not using it. It is not an altar — it is a resting place. Ideally lying down (not standing), wrapped in a natural cloth (linen, cotton) or on a flat stone.
- 9✦ Before going to sleep, place it within three meters of your bed, but not in the bed (you do not sleep with the Wand — it is an active tool, it needs rest independent of the body).
- 10◈ The next day, upon waking, lift it with your dominant hand and make three vertical strokes in the air in front of your chest. It is the greeting of the second day. From that moment on, the shared learning begins.
THE FIRST WEEK
Day by day
+
- 1Day 1. ✦ DAY OF THE INTRODUCTION. Do not ask it for anything yet today. Just handle it, get to know it, carry it to different rooms of the house. Let it recognize your space. Three strokes to the sky before sleeping.
- 2Day 2. ◈ DAY OF THE NAME. If your Wand did not arrive with a name, find it one today. Hold it in silence for ten minutes and let the name appear. When it appears, say it to the Wand three times. If it does not appear, wait: sometimes it arrives in dreams that night.
- 3Day 3. ◇ DAY OF THE FIRST LIGHT USE. Today you make your first intention with it. Something small, not something enormous. 'Let the bank paperwork get resolved tomorrow.' 'Let the reply to the message I sent appear.' Something concrete, verifiable, near. The Wand learns with clear feedback.
- 4Day 4. ☾ DAY OF REST. Do not use it today. Clean it with a dry cloth, leave it lying in its place. The Wand also learns from rest. Day four is for pause.
- 5Day 5. ✦ DAY OF THE SMOKE CLEANSING. Cleanse it with palo santo or cedar smoke. Three clockwise passes over the body of the wood, keeping the smoke from touching the tip directly. The tip is cleaned only with air.
- 6Day 6. ◈ DAY OF THE SECOND USE. Ask it again for something small and verifiable. Ideally, this time with a physical gesture in addition to the word: tracing a spiral, a circle, a straight line toward a concrete point on the horizon.
- 7Day 7. ◇ DAY OF CLOSING. You have spent a week together. Take it in both hands as on the first day, thank it. Write down whether the two small intentions materialized or not. If they did, the synchronization is underway. If not, do not be alarmed — some Wands take two or three weeks to light up.
PREPARING THE HOME
How to prepare the space
+
THE PLACE
✦ The Wand does not live on you or in your pocket. It lives in its resting place: a low table, a shelf, a flat stone in the corner of the study. Ideally lying horizontally (not standing in a vase), wrapped or covered with a natural cloth when you are not using it. Near a window, but not under the direct midday sun.
LIGHT
◈ The light of early morning and the light of the moon serve it well. Candlelight serves it while you use it. Prolonged fluorescent light does not serve it, nor does sustained strong midday sun (it dries out the wood).
SOUND
◇ Silence serves it, the sound of the wind, the sound of burning fire, Tibetan bowls, drums with natural hide. Loud electronic music does not serve it, nor the constant noise of a television in the background.
COMPANION PLANTS
☾ Rosemary (activates it), sage (purifies it), bay laurel (gives it authority), rue (protects it from other people's hands), a branch of hazel or oak nearby (nourishes it, reminds it of its origin).
OTHER OBJECTS
✦ It likes to live alongside a large piece of clear quartz or amethyst in the same space, with a natural wax candle, with a bowl of water renewed every three days. It does not like to live with knives or scissors in the same container (it is a tool and accepts no competition), nor with very noisy clocks.
ALLIED CRYSTALS
Stones that accompany
+
CLEAR QUARTZ
The universal companion of every Wand. A clear quartz point beside the Wand keeps it sharp. If it is asleep, leave it touching a quartz druse for 24 hours.
SMOKY QUARTZ
For Wands used in cuts, closures, endings. It unites the tool with the energy of the clean cut.
AMETHYST
For Wands used in vision, lucid dreams, divination. It strengthens the user's mental channel.
CITRINE
For Wands that call prosperity and material manifestation. It charges with golden light, perfect for waxing moon sessions.
SELENITE
Deep cleansing for the Wand. A selenite bar beside it for one night discharges what has accumulated.
HEMATITE
For Wands that need more weight, more grounding. Useful if you feel your Wand is 'too ethereal'.
LAPIS LAZULI
For Wands used in rituals of the word, contracts, public declarations. The Egyptian crystal of the verb.
OBSIDIAN
For Wands of active protection. An obsidian point nearby gives it mirror capacity: it reflects back what came in wrong.
HERBS AND SMOKE CLEANSING
The green that accompanies
+
PALO SANTO
✦ For cleansing after every intense session. Three passes over the body of the Wand, without touching the tip.
CEDAR
◈ For Wands of material manifestation and abundance. Burn cedar shavings while you use it to amplify the call.
BAY LAUREL
◇ For Wands of authority, decision, victory in proceedings. Cleanse with bay leaf smoke before an important session.
ROSEMARY
☾ For morning activation. Touch the Wand with a sprig of fresh rosemary before starting the day.
MUGWORT (ARTEMISIA)
✦ For Wands used in vision and lucid dreaming. Burn a pinch of mugwort before vision sessions.
RUE
◈ For protecting the Wand itself. A sprig of rue beside its resting place keeps curious hands away.
MYRRH
◇ For consecration on the new moon. A pinch of myrrh burned nearby renews the Pact each month.
SACRED TOBACCO
☾ For an offering to the tree the Wand was born from. A pinch of chemical-free tobacco buried in a flowerpot once a month.
LUNAR CYCLE
What to do in each phase
+
NEW MOON
✦ Night of emptying. Do not use it tonight to call anything — use it to clean and release. Make a closing stroke, a descending line with the Wand, while saying aloud what you want to end. It is the phase of the cut.
WAXING QUARTER
◈ Night of calling. This is the phase of maximum manifestation. Make your main intention of the month: direct the Wand toward the north or toward the moon and formulate the intention with an active verb, in the present. It is the Wand's most fertile moment.
FULL MOON
◇ Night of sealing and recharging. Leave the Wand at a window or in the garden all night under the direct full moon. Before sleeping, make three full-circle strokes sealing everything you called during the cycle.
WANING QUARTER
☾ Night of cutting and unbinding. If there are bonds, debts, situations draining you, this is the phase to work on them with the Wand. A descending stroke and a clear declaration: 'I cut this, I release this, I let this go.' Then cleanse it with smoke and rest the Wand for 48 hours.
SEASONAL CYCLE
How it changes with the seasons
+
SUMMER
✦ Season of maximum manifestation. The Wand is at its best. Use it for everything that means expansion, travel, new bonds, new projects. Protect it from strong direct sun — the wood dries out if you leave it for hours in the midday sun.
AUTUMN
◈ Season of harvest. It is the time to use the Wand to consolidate what you called during the summer. Strokes of closing, sealing, integration. Fewer new requests, more confirmation of what is already underway.
WINTER
◇ Season of the inward. The Wand works in tune with your inner processes. Use it for vision, dreaming, long-term decisions. It is the time for long sessions in silence with a lit candle.
SPRING
☾ Season of awakening. The Wand becomes very active again after the winter stillness. It is time to renew the annual intention, to give the Wand an herb bath, to begin a new cycle of use.
HOW TO SPEAK TO IT
Daily practice
+
- ·✦ MORNING ACTIVATION RITUAL. Each morning, lift the Wand with your dominant hand and make three vertical strokes in the air. Say: 'we are awake, into the day we go.' It is the basic ignition.
- ·◈ WEEKLY INTENTION RITUAL. Once a week, ideally Sunday night, sit with the Wand and formulate the main intention of the week. One alone. With an active verb, in the present. Trace a clockwise circle in front of your heart while you say it.
- ·◇ POST-SESSION CLEANSING RITUAL. After every intense use (not after every morning greeting — after every real intention session), cleanse it with palo santo smoke and let it rest at least six hours before the next use.
- ·☾ FULL MOON RITUAL. Once a month, bathe it in moonlight through the whole night. The next day, make three strokes sealing everything you asked for during the month. Write down the results.
- ·✦ NEW MOON RITUAL. Emptying and reset. Make a declaration of release (what you no longer want to carry) with a descending stroke. Then leave the Wand wrapped in black cloth for 24 hours.
- ·◈ CUTTING RITUAL (when there is a toxic bond or situation). Under a waning moon, make a clean cut in the air — a straight vertical descending line — and declare the cut aloud. Cleanse it with smoke immediately afterward and rest the Wand for 48 hours.
- ·◇ CALLING RITUAL (when you want something to appear). Under a waxing moon, point the Wand toward the north and formulate the call with the greatest possible specificity. The more concrete the request, the more concrete the response. 'I want love' does not work. 'I want to meet someone with whom to build a serene bond this year' works.
HOW TO RECEIVE MESSAGES
The four channels
+
IN DREAMS
✦ The Wand speaks in dreams where it appears as an active tool: you use it in the dream, it fails you in the dream, someone tries to take it from you in the dream. Those dreams are a direct message about how your use of the tool is going in real life.
IN SIGNS
◈ After a clear session, you begin to see the object, the person or the situation you asked for in unexpected places. Three appearances within a few days are confirmation that the Wand is directing well.
IN SENSATIONS
◇ When you lift it, you feel a pulsing in the palm of your dominant hand. Sometimes heat, sometimes cold, sometimes a slight vibration. That is the bodily confirmation that the Wand is awake.
IN INTUITION
☾ After asking it for something, concrete ideas of what to do about it come to you. The Wand does not bring you things — it brings you the actions that lead to things. Follow those ideas. They are usually the direction you asked for, returned in the form of impulse.
SIGNS
How you notice it is working
+
WHEN IT PULSES IN YOUR PALM
✦ You feel a pulsing in your dominant hand when holding it. It is the basic sign that the Wand is awake and connected with you.
WHEN WHAT YOU ASKED FOR APPEARS IN LESS THAN THREE DAYS
◈ You asked for something concrete and in less than 72 hours the first materialization appears. It is the sign of a highly synchronized Wand — time to sustain disciplined use.
WHEN IT VIBRATES IN ANOTHER PERSON'S PRESENCE
◇ The Wand vibrates or warms up when a certain person enters the room. It is pointing someone out to you — usually someone important to your process, positively or negatively.
WHEN SOMEONE GRABS IT AND IT SLIPS FROM THEIR HAND
☾ Another person takes it without permission and drops it. The Wand is defending its Pact with you.
WHEN YOU DREAM OF USING IT
✦ You dream that you use it in a specific situation. It is instruction: use it in real life for the similar situation that will soon appear.
WHEN ITS APPARENT WEIGHT CHANGES
◈ One day it feels lighter, another day heavier. Heavy means charged, ready for a session. Light means discharged and in need of rest.
WHEN YOU HEAR A FAINT SOUND IN THE WOOD
◇ A soft snap, a creak, with no one touching it. It is a sign of activity of its own. Greet it, but do not be alarmed — it is a good sign.
WHEN THE INTENTION FORMS ITSELF IN SHARP WORDS
☾ As you lift it, the exact intention of what you want to ask appears to you, without your having consciously thought it before. The Wand is reading you well.
WHEN THE TIP DARKENS OR LIGHTENS
✦ The wood visibly changes tone at the tip after intense use. It is absorption of charge. Smoke cleansing and rest.
WHEN YOU FIND IT MOVED FROM ITS RESTING PLACE
◈ You left it lying one way and it appears turned or shifted. There is always something behind that movement — usually, that it is eager to be used.
WHEN CUTTING THROUGH THE AIR YOU FEEL A SOFT RESISTANCE
◇ As if the air were denser at that exact point. You are finding a real current with the tool — time to pay attention and decide whether you cut, seal or call.
WHEN IT CALLS YOU WITHOUT YOUR HAVING THOUGHT OF IT
☾ You are doing something else and the mental image of your Wand appears. It is asking you for a session. Do not postpone it more than a day.
SITUATIONS
If this happens to you
+
I DO NOT FEEL IT VIBRATE
✦ Normal in the first two to three weeks, especially if you do not use it regularly. Hold a session with a very concrete intention twice a week for a month. If after a month it is still mute, check: are you using the right hand? Are you speaking to it with a clear verb? Are you letting it rest between sessions?
I ASK FOR THINGS AND THEY DO NOT HAPPEN
◈ Check the wording. 'I want to feel better' is not a Wand intention. 'I want the law firm to call me on Tuesday the 5th for the job interview' is a Wand intention. The more specific the request, the more concrete the response.
SOMEONE GRABBED IT WITHOUT PERMISSION
◇ Give it a deep cleansing: three passes of palo santo smoke, 24 hours wrapped in black cloth, 24 hours touching a large crystal (quartz or selenite). Then a reactivation session with your main intention.
A PIECE BROKE OFF OR IT GOT SCRATCHED
☾ The Wand absorbed something strong to protect you or to fulfill a very intense session. Do not discard it. Give it an herb bath (rosemary, sage, bay laurel) in lukewarm water, let it air-dry, and make an offering to the tree it came from (a pinch of tobacco or honey buried in a flowerpot).
USING IT MAKES ME ANXIOUS
✦ It happens, especially to those who come from a more mental world. Start with very short sessions (one minute, a single small intention) and increase slowly. The Wand is not for suffering — if it causes you constant distress, rest it for a month and come back.
I FORGOT IT FOR THREE MONTHS
◈ It fell into a deep sleep. Long reactivation: a week of morning greetings without asking for anything, a full moon of charging, intensive smoke cleansing, and at the end a clear session with the main intention renewed. It comes back.
I WANT TO PASS IT ON TO SOMEONE ELSE
◇ Only possible if that person specifically asked you for it. Ritual: a deep three-day cleansing, a formal declaration closing your Pact, a handover with the other person present, and a Pact-opening ritual for that person. Without those steps, the Wand remains in an erratic state.
COMPATIBILITIES
What it combines with
+
✦ The Channeling Wands of the Lineage resonate with the Greater Guardians who have a vocation for action and direction. If your Greater Guardian is of the lineage of the Warriors of the Forest, the Magicians of the Studio, or the Hunters of the Moon, a Wand is the natural tool to extend his capacity for action beyond the Guardian's body. The Wand is the Guardian's 'hand' when you are the one holding it: it extends his will through you.
◈ Wands of calling and manifestation combine especially well with the Guardians of Abundance and the Guardians of the Path: they are their operative voice, their capacity to direct energy toward concrete goals. Wands of cutting and active protection combine with the Guardians of the Deep Forest and the Sentinel Guardians: they amplify their capacity to protect a perimeter or cut a harmful bond. Wands of vision combine with the Oracular Guardians and the Guardians of Dream: they let you consciously direct what the Guardian already shows you.
◇ Important: a Wand should not coexist in the same session with a Talisman of contradictory intention. If you wear a Talisman of inner peace and want to use a Wand to cut a conflictive bond, take off the Talisman before the session and put it back on afterward. Both tools are powerful and their messages must not be confused. And if you have a Greater Guardian at home, we recommend holding the Wand's first session in the same room as him — so the Guardian recognizes it as a legitimate tool of the Pact.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What the Tribe asks about this lineage
+
CAN I LEND IT?
✦ No. The Wand responds only to your hand. If another person grabs it, it 'falls asleep' for days and must be reactivated. If someone wants one, let them welcome their own.
CAN I USE IT EVERY DAY?
◈ Yes, but distinguish between the morning greeting (short, light) and the intention session (long, intense). Intention sessions should not be more than three per week — if you hold sessions every day, the Wand saturates and the results become disordered.
CAN I TAKE IT ON A TRIP?
◇ Yes. Wrapped in natural cloth, in a box or rigid case. On a plane it travels in carry-on or checked luggage, no problem. But remind it that it is traveling: 'we are coming to this place for this long, we are going to work on this.'
WHAT DO I DO IF IT GETS WET?
☾ Let it air-dry (no hair dryer, no strong sun). If it was rainwater, you can leave it in the air a while longer — rain nourishes it. If it was water with soap or detergent, give it an herb cleansing afterward.
ARE A WAND AND A STAFF THE SAME THING?
✦ Functionally, yes. The staff is a large Wand, generally used to direct from the ground (resting it) instead of from the hand. The rules are the same. The staff is more for long rituals, the wand more for one-off sessions.
DOES IT WORK IF I AM LEFT-HANDED?
◈ Yes, of course. Your dominant hand is your left — all rituals are done with the dominant hand, not necessarily the right. The Wand learns your laterality in the first weeks.
CAN A MINOR USE IT?
◇ The Wands of the Lineage are recommended for adults (16 and older). A minor using a Wand without adult guidance may direct energy without quite knowing what they are doing. That is not what this Lineage is for.
WHAT IF I ASK FOR SOMETHING I LATER REGRET?
☾ It happens. Perform a withdrawal ritual: under a waning moon, a clear declaration 'I withdraw what I asked regarding this matter', a descending stroke, and a smoke cleansing. The withdrawal usually works if you do it within the first lunar cycle after the request.
DOES THIS CURE ILLNESS, SERIOUS FINANCIAL PROBLEMS, RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS?
✦ No. It is symbolic art and a ritual tool. It does not replace medical treatment, legal counsel, couples therapy, financial advice or any kind of professional. The Wand accompanies processes — it does not substitute for them. If you have a serious problem in any of those areas, go to the corresponding professional.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN IT IS TIME TO CHANGE WANDS?
◈ When you use it with discipline and still feel it no longer responds, for more than three months. Or when your life has changed so much that the original intention is no longer yours. In those cases, a formal farewell ritual, and eventually welcoming a new one.
Your Guardian was created by hand with intention
You do not need intermediaries to hear him. What you felt when you received him is the beginning — the rest keeps opening as you look at him, speak to him, let him exist. This portal is so you have the tools at hand. The bond is yours to make.
"✦ The Wand does not do what you are not willing to do. It amplifies your will when you know what you want — and stays mute when you do not. ☾"
