Eleuterio collects lovely moments that no one else collects: a table full of laughter on an ordinary Tuesday, the smell of wet earth coming through the window, two people sitting in comfortable silence. People live them and let them go, sure that what matters comes later, and he gathers them before they're lost. The amethyst of his talisman keeps them intact, smell and all, and the mushroom protects them from forgetting, that slow-gnawing creature.
