Difference between elves, fairies, gnomes and sylphs
People confuse them all the time, and it makes sense. To begin to read this world, you have to know how to distinguish who inhabits it.
When someone writes to us for the first time, the most common thing is that they use the interchangeable words: "your elf", "that little fairy", "this gnome". And that's okay — you get what he means. But if you're going to live near one, it's a good idea to learn to distinguish.
Elemental beings are not story characters. They are real presences that different human cultures translated in their own way for thousands of years. That is why today we have four words that overlap, they come from different traditions, and they were especially mixed in the Rio de la Plata Creole culture due to the European-American fusion.

It is the one who moves an object when you are looking for it, the one who blows out the candle at the exact moment, the one who appears in the dream with a specific message. It's not evil — it's direct.

Fairies
The emotional plane · The cycles
Fairies work more with the emotional plane and with cycles. They appear around important moments: a birth, a mourning, a profound change. In Celtic mythology they have their own parallel kingdom, "Faerie", which intersects with ours in specific places.
