Axel Elf

Axel carries a quartz that changes color. Not because it's magical — because it reflects what surrounds it. Like him. Traveling elves learn to adapt. The green of his backpack is forest, the brown is earth, the metal of the clover is what never changes: the certainty that he will find what he is looking for. The green agate heart isn't decoration. It's his way of remembering that no matter how far he goes, the heart has to stay soft. There are travelers who harden along the way. Axel chose not to be one of them. His wooden staff is simple. No ornaments, no glittering stones. Because what holds up a traveler isn't the spectacular — it's what doesn't fail when everything else fails. The quartz changes. Axel changes. You'll change. The difference is in choosing which color to move toward. "I didn't come to show you the path. I came to change the color of the crystal you see through. After that, you find the path on your own."
